The Giving Circle is volunteer-driven. We welcome all levels of membership involvement. Members may choose to serve on any of our standing committees: Grantmaking, Partner, Communications and Membership.
Grantmaking Committee
The Grantmaking Committee is made up of 12-14 members and two co-chairs. We use a rigorous, three-phase review process, including site visits. The committee reviews proposals with final recommendations being made to the full Giving Circle membership in May. Grants are awarded in June at the annual breakfast.
Partner Committee
The Partner Committee conducts periodic follow-up and evaluation throughout the year, engaging grantees in an informal assessment of progress towards grant goals and objectives. A mid-year report on grant status keeps members in the loop and aware of the impact of their dollars. Grantees complete a year-end evaluation of grant outcomes.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee is responsible for the content and mailing of the Giving Circle’s newsletter, “The Circular,” three times a year, as well as maintaining contact with the membership on community and Giving Circle news, developing media and public relations releases, updating annual literature, and managing our website and Facebook page.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee has responsibility for the retention of current membership as well as attracting new members. They maintain ongoing contact with members, creating an open line of communication. They are also responsible for the orientation program, billings, and program logistics.
